Michael F. Donner - Partner

Michael F. Donner is a Partner in Stein & Lubin’s Litigation and Finance and Workouts Practice Groups.  He specializes in business, real estate, employment, trade practice and fiduciary matters.
 
Mr. Donner's practice covers a wide range of commercial matters, including those involving real estate development, investment, brokerage, leasing and financing, lender liability, receiverships, construction, shareholder, partner and investor rights, employee compensation and termination, employee-raiding, trade secret theft, unfair competition, fiduciary and professional liability and consumer class action defense. 

Mr. Donner has extensive experience prosecuting and defending claims in the federal and state trial courts and before governmental agencies and private arbitration panels.  While Mr. Donner focuses on litigation and arbitration, he also regularly counsels clients on a variety of legal and business matters, including litigation avoidance, employment separations, restrictive employment covenants, trade secret protection and contract negotiations and performance.  He received the highest professional peer review rating, “AV®,” from Lexis-Nexis/Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Donner serves as a mediator in the San Francisco Superior Court's Early Settlement Program.  He was an appointed member of the Judiciary Committee of the San Francisco Bar Association (2000-2004) and the Judicial Appointments Committee of the Los Angeles Bar Association (1995-2000).  He also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Eugene F. Lynch of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California (now of JAMS) and the Honorable Stuart R. Pollak of the San Francisco Superior Court (now of the California Court of Appeal).

Mr. Donner frequently speaks on various business and litigation topics and has written numerous articles for a variety of news, business and legal publications on real estate, employment, trade secret and commercial litigation issues.  He also has served on the boards of several Bay Area non-profit and civic organizations.
