Dennis D. Miller is a Partner in Stein & Lubin’s Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights, Finance and Workouts and Litigation Practice Groups.  He specializes in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, workouts and loan restructuring and creditor’s rights.

Mr. Miller represents financial institutions, leasing companies and landlords in commercial bankruptcy cases and federal and state court litigation involving real and personal property secured transactions.  He has extensive experience in judicial and nonjudicial foreclosures, the appointment of receivers, pre- and post-judgment remedies, judgment enforcements and construction disputes.  Mr. Miller has represented clients in the bankruptcy courts in New York, Delaware, California, Arizona, Nevada and Illinois; in the federal and state courts in the Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California; and in the appellate courts before the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Miller was named by San Francisco Magazine as a “Top Lawyer” in the San Francisco Bay Area in Bankruptcy in 2006 and as a “Super Lawyer” in 2010.  He is currently the President of the Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum and was formerly President of the California Receivers Forum–Bay Area Chapter.  He served on the Board of Directors of both organizations. Mr. Miller also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable John A. Arguelles of the California Supreme Court.

Mr. Miller is a mediator for the Bankruptcy Dispute Resolution Panel for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California, a position he has held for more than six years. He also serves as a judge pro tempore in pre-trial and settlement conferences for the Marin County Superior Court.
