Jonathan Funk is a real estate attorney with a diverse general practice focusing on office, industrial and retail leasing, and purchase and sale transactions. Mr. Funk represents real property owners and their investment advisors in connection with the acquisition, management and disposition of all forms of real estate, as well as lenders and borrowers in real estate financing transactions. He has represented pension funds, investment advisors, life insurance companies, financial institutions, utility companies, high-tech companies, property and asset management organizations, developers and others in the real estate industry throughout California and in other western states.

Mr. Funk graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University in 1979 with a B.A. in Sociology, where he was a Henry Rutgers Scholar and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1982.

• Drafted and negotiated office building, shopping center, business and industrial park and university campus leases, ground leases, lease amendments, lease assignments, subleases and related documentation for both landlords and tenants.

• Prepared and negotiated purchase and sale, option and easement agreements.

• Counseled property managers and asset managers in day-to-day tenant and lease-related issues, including unlawful detainer actions.

• Drafted CC&R's and reciprocal easement agreements.

• Analyzed title and survey matters in connection with the leasing, acquisition and sale of real property.

• Drafted and negotiated loan documents, loan modification and workout agreements, and forbearance agreements for both permanent and construction loans.
